Barrington Brewery & Restaurant

Since 1995 Barrington Brewery has been serving our own Barn Brewed Beer and food made from scratch. We were the first brewery on the east coast to install a solar panel system that supplies solar-heated hot water for brewing and restaurant use. In 2016, we installed a 480-panel solar electric system providing our two businesses with 85% of our electricity needs.
We have always used local ingredients whenever they are available: seasonal produce from Taft Farms, Equinox Farm, Howden Farm, and the Berry Patch. We offer grass fed burgers and steaks from Northeast Family Farms and free range chicken from New York state. Our sausages are made by the Alpine Pork Store in Catskill, NY and Nodine’s Smokehouse in Goshen, CT. Our beer flavors many of our made from scratch dishes, including our Cheddar Ale Soup, Semolina Ale Bread, chilis, barbecue sauce, salad dressings and famous Chocolate Stout Cake as well as our Beer-Steamed Sausage and Steak & Stout Sandwiches.

The Four Stefanopoulos Brothers came to the United States from Kertezi, Greece a rural village during the very early 1970’s. The four brothers came to America as so many others have, to seek their fortune, and for them, the streets of America were truly paved with gold. Arriving with nothing but their luggage and passion to succeed, they built the Four Brothers empire.
Opened in 1981, the Great Barrington location was the seventh addition to the Four Brothers family of restaurants. Accommodating 120 guests, it provides the traditional Greek dining of the Four Brothers family to the Berkshires.

In 1980 the Stockbridge Inn building was purchased and completely renovated inside and out by The Abdalla’s. As the Restaurant took shape, many a fancy name was debated over until the simplest name was decided upon. On May 1, 1981 Michael’s Restaurant and Lounge was born.
Throughout the years the menus and faces have changed but the ownership has stayed the same and the commitment to plentiful, good food and pleasantly quick service has been our pride.
