The Proprietor’s Lodge has just celebrated its one year anniversary and during this time, has made some remarkable accomplishments, including their recent addition of Executive Chef Luis Zambrano. Chef Zambrano is no stranger to the Berkshire dining scene, including the Number 10 Restaurant, The Old Inn on the Green, Wheatleigh and Canyon Ranch.

The Proprietor’s Lodge is located in what was once the ITAM Lodge and sits beautifully on the south end of Pontoosuc Lake, offering what many say is the best lakeside dining in the Berkshires …and I think they may be right. Whether you are dining inside, or out on their newly added outdoor patio (seasonal), the views are incredible.

In addition to their extensive menu, The Proprietor’s Lodge offers daily specials, clearly showing the creativity of Chef Zambrano and his talented team. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (brings back memories), Braised lamb shank in a red wine sauce, Shrimp and vegetable Alfredo over linguine, Pan seared haddock with roasted root vegetables, just to mention a few!

For those that still enjoy making their own salad, you are in for a treat, as The Proprietor’s Lodge is one of the few places around offering a salad bar and the opportunity for you to make a salad “your way.” Couple that with a great dessert selection, and well, who has room for dinner! During the past year we have tried many of the items on their menu and a few of our favorites are: Clam Chowder, The Lodge Wings (Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan), Lobster Mac & Cheese, Fish & Chips, Filet Mignon, Chicken Oscar, Seared Sea Scallops, Swordfish, Reuben and Turkey Club. I could add more, but check it out for yourself, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

At times they get exceptionally busy, such as Saturday nights, and the wait can be a bit longer, so if you have plans after dinner, allow enough time and yes, they do accept reservations. To me a restaurant being busy is a good thing, a good sign, one that makes me feel as though I have made a good dining decision, to others however, they can become impatient. Please be patient and I think you will find your dining experience at The Proprietor’s Lodge to be a pleasant one!

They also offer a Sunday Bruch Buffet, served 10AM-2PM, which we have yet to try, but will soon!

The Proprietor’s Lodge also offers music, events and more! Check them out, you won’t be disappointed.
