A Delightful Culinary Experience In Downtown Pittsfield

Located in the heart of Pittsfield, RJ’s Restaurant has been one of our Berkshire favorites since its opening in the fall of 2021. They feature an extensive menu, an inviting atmosphere, and white linen tablecloths … such a nice touch! From the moment we stepped through the doors for the very first time, the restaurant exuded a warm ambiance that instantly made us feel welcome. The combination of delectable food, refreshing drinks, and an inviting atmosphere make for an unforgettable dining experience.

Let’s start with the food, which is nothing short of excellent. With co-owner Jose up front and Chef David and his staff performing their magic in the kitchen, culinary expectations are met. Their menu boasts an array of mouthwatering dishes, but I must highlight the Home Baked Chicken Wings for an appetizer. These wings are nothing short of perfection and are offered in a variety of tantalizing flavors. The order consisted of 7 large wings and is sure to please.

Moving on to the Lobster Bisque, it also is a good choice. This rich and creamy soup was generously filled with pieces of tender lobster, ensuring that each spoonful was a luxurious delight. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients were evident, making this a standout dish.

The New York Strip Steak was spot on, showcasing Chef David’s skill at preparing a tender and flavorful cut of meat. Served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and a medley of perfectly cooked vegetables, this dish truly satisfied my cravings for a delicious and hearty meal. I have also ordered their Bone In Rib Eye on another visit and it was also delicious and cooked to a perfect temperature.

Their Shrimp Alfredo is a delightful combination of sautéed shrimp, al dente fettuccine, and a homemade Alfredo sauce. The flavors blend harmoniously, resulting in a dish that is indulgent yet balanced.

The Chicken Marsala is another highlight of RJ’s, with tender chicken sautéed to perfection and generously topped with mushrooms in a flavorsome marsala wine sauce. This dish exhibits the restaurant’s dedication to using quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.

Lastly, the Veal Parmigiano is one of the best I have had in the Berkshires, leaving a lasting impression. The expertly breaded Veal Scallopini was topped with melted mozzarella and served over a bed of spaghetti, all in a light tomato sauce. The flavors married together beautifully, creating a dish that was both comforting and satisfying.

Aside from the outstanding food, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is very inviting. The warm and friendly staff ensures that every guest feels welcome, and the cozy decor adds to the overall charming ambiance. It’s the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience and let’s not forget the white linen tablecloths!

Lastly, if you can find room, I suggest one of their amazing espresso’s and of course, an over-the-top dessert.

In conclusion, our numerous visits to this restaurant have been a true culinary delight. The food is exceptional, with standout dishes such as the Home Baked Chicken Wings, Lobster Bisque, New York Strip Steak, Shrimp Alfredo, Chicken Marsala, and Veal Parmigiano. Coupled with the friendly atmosphere and attentive service, this restaurant is definitely deserving of high praise. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a delightful dining experience in the Berkshires.
